About the Board
Empowering the Next Generation of Niger State Leaders
The Niger State Scholarship Board (NSSB) is a state government agency established by law to promote access to quality higher education for indigenes of Niger State. The Board awards scholarships annually to qualified students at tertiary institutions across Nigeria and abroad.
Our mandate is to reduce financial barriers to education and empower the youth of Niger State to achieve academic excellence — contributing directly to the social and economic development of the state.

Eligibility Criteria
Who Can Apply?
Bonafide indigene of Niger State with a valid Indigene Letter from your LGA
Currently enrolled in an accredited tertiary institution (university, polytechnic, or college of education)
Valid National Identity Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN)
Not a current beneficiary of any other government scholarship programme
Minimum academic performance of Second Class Lower (2.0 CGPA) or equivalent
Must be below 35 years of age for undergraduate programmes
Passed SSCE or equivalent with minimum of five (5) credits
Process
How the Application Works
Fill the Application
Complete the online form with your personal, academic, and bank details.
Upload Documents
Submit your indigene letter, admission letter, birth certificate, and school fee receipt.
Verification
Your application is reviewed by the NANIS verification team and the Scholarship Board.
Receive Your Award
Approved applicants are notified and scholarships disbursed directly to their bank accounts.
